Measurements

In order to work on the costume, we will need your measurements. Here's the detailed guide :3

FRONT VIEW

C1 - Neck girth

Measure at the base of the neck above the cervical point (7th cervical vertebra), the base of the neck and the jugular notch of the sternum.

C2 - Chest width (take not by girth) and first chest girth

Chest width: Measured above the base of the breasts, between verticals drawn upward from the anterior angles of the armpits (7 cm below the jugular cavity - the suprasternal point).

C3 - Distance between the centers of the breast (nipple line)

Measured horizontally between protruding breast points

C5 - Waist circumference

Tie tightly around the waist (narrowest point) with auxiliary tape (this will ensure accurate measurement of vertical dimensions). The waist circumference is measured at the narrowest point around the torso (tight, but not too much).

C6 - Hip girth

Measure horizontally through the gluteal points and the most prominent points of the hips (the thigh line is located at a distance of approximately 18-21 cm from the waist line).

M1 - Stride length

Distance from groin to floor along the inside of the leg.

M2 - Waistline height

Waistline height is measured from the side vertically from the waistline to the floor.

G1 - Shoulder length

L1 - Chest height

L2 - Front length to waist line

Measured from the middle of the width of the shoulder slope. Through the protruding point of the breast and then vertically down to the level of the waist line, marked with a tape (there is no such size criterion in Russian standards).

L3 - Length from chest girth (first) to nipple line

L4 - Length from the nipple line to the waist

L5 - Length from waist to hips

Measured from waistline to hips.

BACK VIEW

C7 - Neck girth

Measure at the base of the neck above the cervical point (7th cervical vertebra), the base of the neck and the jugular notch of the sternum.

C8 - Chest girth (third)

Third chest circumference - Measured in the same way as the first chest circumference, only the measuring tape in front runs along the protruding points of the chest glands. Measured next to the first one without moving the tape on the back

C9 - Waist circumference

Tie tightly around the waist (narrowest point) with auxiliary tape (this will ensure accurate measurement of vertical dimensions). The waist circumference is measured at the narrowest point around the torso (tight, but not too much).

C10 - Hip girth

Measure horizontally through the gluteal points and the most prominent points of the hips (the thigh line is located at a distance of approximately 18-21 cm from the waist line).

G2 - Arm length from base of neck to wrist

L5 - Back length to waist

L6 - Seat height

Measured from the side vertically from the waist line to the horizontal plane of the seat in a sitting position.

M3 - Length from neck to floor

M4 - Side length

SIDE VIEW

C2 - Arm length to the elbow

Measured from the shoulder point to the elbow

G3 - Chest height

Measure from the highest point of the shoulder seam to the waistline through the prominent point of the breast.

G4 - Armhole height

Measure vertically from the base of the neck to the horizontal with a centimeter or ribbons at the level of the upper corners of the armpits.

C11 - Shoulder girth

This measurement is taken horizontally at the back angles of the armpits.

C12 - Second chest girth

Defines the dimensions of the datum grid. Measure horizontally around the body through the protruding points of the chest glands, the measuring tape should not sag on the back.

C13 - Bicep girth

Measured perpendicular to the axis of the shoulder at the widest point of the shoulder, the arm should be bent (there is no such dimensional criterion in Russian standards).

C14 - Elbow girth

Measured horizontally along the protruding points of the elbow, while bending the arm slightly.

C15 - Forearm girth

C16 - Wrist girth

Measure perpendicular to the axis of the forearm along the radial joint through the head of the ulna, but not too tight.

C17 - Upper thigh girth

Measured near the groin at the most prominent points of the thigh.

C18 - Knee girth

Measure the knee circumference at the center of the patella.

C19 - Calf girth

Measured at the widest part of the calf.

C20 - Ankle girth

Measured horizontally around the leg just above the inner ankle.

L8 - Length from elbow to wrist

L9 - Length from hip to knee

L10 - length from knee to ankle

Tips and tricks

Be careful!

Masters are not responsible for incorrect measurement.

Measurements must be taken with a soft measuring tape. Not with building tapes or rulers!

Tie a rubber band around your waist where you think your waist is.

It is not necessary to take measurements from the naked body, you can wear tight, thin clothes without layers.

All body measurements marked "c" should be taked with girth (the only exception is C3). This means that you need to run a measuring tape around the part of your torso that you plan to measure.

C20 is your ankle measurement, be careful.

If necessary, we may ask you to take measurements that are not listed on this page.

Taking measurements of yourself is really difficult - ask your friend to help you!

Try to take all measurements in centimeters!

For complex costumes, it's won't be enough just to measure, you will need a Duct Tape Dummy (DTD).

The measuring tape should adhere to the body without deforming the soft tissue by tension.
